Last year the Foundation changed direction to prepare for Montreal 2026. The Foundation will support athletes born between 2004-2007 with the potential to be globally competitive U23’s – increasing Canada’s chances to field a competitive team at a Home Worlds 🥳
The Foundation is calling this initiative Mission 2026. In 2024 the Foundation directly selected male riders and had an application process for women. This year the Foundation will use an open application process for both women & men. All current grant recipients are encouraged to apply to have their grants renewed. The process of selection grant recipients will be subjective, and is outlined here.
Athletes seeking this grant need to be born between 2004-2007 and demonstrate the potential to be professional cyclists. The riders who will be among the best U23’s in Montreal will already be professional riders – or in the final stages of a journey to get there.
